Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 28, 2026

At BadgerStack, LLC we treat your data — and your customers' data — with the same care we'd want for our own. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three primary ways:

  • Account information. When you sign up for Badgerlytics, we collect your name, email address, and (if you become a paying customer) billing information processed by a secure payment service.
  • Analytics data. Our tracking script collects anonymous interaction events from visitors to your websites — page views, product views, cart updates, custom events, and similar. These events are associated with an anonymous visitor identifier, not a person.
  • Operational telemetry. We log application errors, latency, and usage of the Badgerlytics dashboard so we can keep the platform reliable.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Badgerlytics platform.
  • Process subscription payments and overage charges.
  • Authenticate your sessions and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Send service notifications (incidents, billing receipts, plan limit alerts).
  • Power the reports, AI insights, and AI chat features inside your own dashboard.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data — analytics data, account data, or otherwise — to third parties. We never have and never will. This is a core promise, not a marketing bullet.

3. Privacy-First Analytics

Badgerlytics is designed for anonymous analytics. We strongly discourage sending personally identifiable information (PII) — names, email addresses, phone numbers, government IDs — in custom events or audience traits.

What you send through the tracking script is stored as you send it; we don't automatically detect or strip PII on ingest. When segmenting users (e.g. by plan, tenure, or behavior), prefer opaque, non-identifying flags like plan: pro or signed_in: true.

We may offer optional integrations that use contact fields for audience workflows in the future. Those will be explicit, opt-in features.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Analytics data is retained for two years on all plans, then permanently deleted on a rolling basis.
  • Session replay recordings are kept for fourteen days, then removed automatically.
  • You control deletion. You can permanently delete a property and all of its data at any time from Settings → Manage Data.

5. Cookies and Tracking

The Badgerlytics dashboard uses cookies for:

  • Authentication — to keep you logged in.
  • Security — to protect against session hijacking and CSRF.
  • Performance and diagnostics — through anonymized usage of the dashboard itself.

The Badgerlytics tracking script (the one your visitors hit on your site) uses a first-party visitor identifier cookie. It contains an opaque random ID — no personal information.

6. Service Providers and AI Processing

We rely on carefully vetted service providers to operate Badgerlytics. They process data only on our instructions and only what's needed to deliver the service to you. We do not allow providers to use your data for their own marketing purposes.

AI features (insights, chat, session analysis, and similar) send data to external language models under strict guardrails:

  • No training — your data is never used to train Badgerlytics-owned models, and our AI configuration requires providers not to use your prompts or responses for model training.
  • No retention — AI requests are sent with no-retention settings. Providers do not keep your data after processing a request.
  • PII blocked — outbound requests containing personally identifiable information are automatically rejected before they leave our systems.
  • Data minimization — we send only what each feature needs. Except for UX Analyst session crawls, data sent to AI is anonymized and does not identify your site.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures — TLS 1.3 in transit, hardened authentication, optional MFA, and regular vulnerability testing.

8. Children's Privacy

Badgerlytics is not intended for use by people under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided information through a Badgerlytics customer, please contact us and we'll work with the customer to remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make meaningful changes we'll update the effective date at the top and (for material changes) notify account owners by email.

10. Contact Us
